A child’s journey to emotional and social wellbeing is facilitated primarily through their daily experiences and the conversations that follow with either, themselves, their peers, their teachers or you, their parents.
Age appropriate and consistent
The COOL TO BE ME curriculum provides a consistent framework of experiences and words that guide children, teachers and parents through these critical conversations from grade 1 to grade 7. As a result children develop the skills needed to manage the complexities, demands and pressures of everyday life. There is space within this framework for each family and school to infuse the conversation with their own values and beliefs. See a full overview of our curriculum.
Family chats and games
All of our workbooks and journals have a section dedicated to family chats and games providing you with the opportunity to engage in your child’s journey to emotional and social wellbeing. Dinner time, bed time or time spent in the car driving to and from extra mural activities are ideal for engaging in COOL TO BE ME fun.
Engage with you children in enchanting stories
The most effective vehicle for teaching children the values, lessons and skills that promote their social, emotional and personal development are stories! COOL TO BE ME has a series of original stories for grade 1,2 and 3 children. If your child is doing BUILDING BLOCKS at school they will receive their own set of storybooks to bring home to read with you. Reading these stories together will greatly assist you in the family chats and games that follow. To see summaries of the stories click here.
